Corrugated metal is just one of the many types of metal used in roofing. Corrugated metal roofs provide a few structural and aesthetic advantages to your building or home. Along with many other types of metal roofs, corrugated metal is cost-effective, environmentally friendly, and long-lasting..

Rojas Roofing provides a variety of metal roof types from copper, steel, standing seam to aluminum metal roofs.

What is Corrugated Metal?

Corrugated metal is made from galvanized steel that is rolled into a wavy pattern. Although the pattern varies, these large sheets of rolled metal can be stacked. It is lightweight, corrosion-resistant, durable, and easily transported. It is prefabricated for many different uses, one of which is metal roofing.

Galvanized steel already has excessive strength, but the corrugation process enhances this strength since the corrugation runs perpendicular to the grooves in the steel. It also has incredible water- shedding features which makes it an excellent solution for both roofing and siding.

Types of Corrugated Metal

The types of corrugated metal are extensive. Each type produces a particular aesthetic effect, and which type you use on your roof is up to you. While it would be impossible to list all varieties, there are a few that are the most common.
\

U-Panel

U-panel sheets have 26-gauge panels and are the most common choice for homes because they’re the most visually appealing. Installation is easy and more affordable because you don’t have to remove the existing roof. A corrugated metal roofing company can place the metal roof on top of whatever you already have.
\

R-Panel

R-panel corrugated sheets are more durable and require less maintenance than other types of corrugated metal roofing materials. They last longer and are typically used more frequently on commercial buildings because they have a more rugged design.

Advantages of Corrugated Metal Roofs

There are plenty of advantages to corrugated metal roof installations:

  • Enable Water Runoff and Quiet: Corrugated metal roofs enable water runoff and are surprisingly quiet during a storm. A common misconception is that all metal roofs are loud, but if properly installed and insulated, this is not correct.
  • Strong and Durable: It can last up to one hundred years if properly installed and maintained. Because steel and aluminum don’t rust or fade, it will look just as new as the day you had it installed. It’s also not vulnerable to termites, contributing to its longevity.
  • Lightweight: Combined with its durability, flexibility, and cost, corrugated roofing is becoming a popular choice for homeowners as well as commercial purposes. Homeowners who want to save money on a long-lasting roof are choosing corrugated metal over other materials.
  • Weather Resistant: Corrugated metal is highly weather resistant, which is a valuable asset in the Noblesville area. From storms to strong winds, corrugated metal roofing is one of the toughest materials you can use to protect your home. It can withstand storms much better than many other types of roofing.

Corrugated Metal Roof Cost

Corrugated metal roof cost varies by location, size, and type. While it’s hard to inspection your exact cost without an inspection, you can plan to spend anywhere from $5 to $12 per square foot. When compared to other roofing types it is often much cheaper. The fact that it can be installed over your existing roof is a huge cost benefit because you won’t have to pay for removal or haul away.

The price of your corrugated metal roof will also cost you less in maintenance over time because it doesn’t require that much upkeep and it will likely last for the life of your home ownership. You may never have to replace it. Not only is it low in cost, but it’s also high in value.

Corrugated Metal Roof Maintenance

Caring for your corrugated metal roof is a breeze. Just like all other metal roofs, a corrugated metal roof will enable runoff during a rainstorm and often cleans itself. However, you may have to inspect it twice a year and clean off any excess dirt or debris.

We also recommend you check for scratches, chipping, or fading. They rarely happen, but sometimes pieces of your roof may need to be repaired or replaced. Also, make sure no overhanging branches or other metal pieces are touching it to prevent further damage.

For more corrugated metal roofing services, call Rojas Roofing for a free inspection today. We’ll inspect your roof, provide a free inspection, and conduct a quick, professional installation of any corrugated metal roof you choose.

We recently used Rojas Roofing for installation of a new roof, gutters, and window screen repair. I cannot say enough good things about Freddy and his team. They were extremely organized, professional, responsive, and meticulous. They … More did a fantastic job on all of the work and were very thorough with cleanup. I would highly recommend Freddy and his team.

I contacted Rojas to replace my roof. Freddy came out to the house and we discussed available options. It was a great meeting, he already had all the information before he arrived to give me a quote. I already had two other quotes plus … More the insurance allowance. Several things that I noticed, 1. A time frame in which the job will start and will be completed. 2. A 15 year transferable warranty. 3. Communication was great. Was told it would be about 4 weeks (they have up to 6 weeks to start). 4. They were the lowest quote.
After 26 days, just shy of the 4 weeks, I requested a schedule date. Did not expect the answer (we will be there in 2 days). Was told it would be 4 weeks and they delivered as promised. I had plans to be away during that time and discussed this with them. Freddy assured me that I did not have to be present. He told me he would keep me informed every step of the project. I thought it would take several days to complete since it was a complete removal and install. I was pleasantly surprised to receive a txt message with aerial photos of the roof completely bare. By that late evening the roof was installed. More photos were received with a beautiful new roof. I can not express the true feelings I had. A contractor that deliveries on a promise, keeps you informed even when you are not there, follows up in person (once I returned home) to ensure my satisfaction.
If you need work on your roof, don't make a decision until you talk with Freddy at Rojas. I am sure once you talk with him, you will not talk with anyone else.

From start to finish, the very stressful task of getting a roof replaced was much easier than anticipated. Freddy Rojas and his entire team are complete professionals, they walked me through the entire process, including what to expect … More at every step along the way. They took the burden of communicating with the insurance company off of me for the most part, but kept me informed of every conversation that was had and the plan going forward. I could not be more pleased with my experience with Rojas Roofing, I would 100% recommend that anyone needing the services they provide contact them. They will be my go-to for all of my roofing/home exterior needs in the future. Thank you Rojas Roofing!
